Error You dont have sufficient privileges

Error: "You do not have sufficient privileges..." when attempting to run a software program Win Devices

Problem:
When inserting a CD or starting the Autorun process to install a program or application, the following error appears:

  • You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as an administrator and then retry this installation.

Cause:
The user that is currently logged in does not belong to the Windows Administrators group.


Solution:
It is important to ensure that the user currently accessing the system belongs to the Administrators group. If the user belongs to the Administrators group, use one of the solutions listed below to workaround this problem.


Login as the Local Administrator:

  1. Obtain the password for the local "Administrator" account. If the system belongs to a network, check with the local IT department.
  2. Click "Start > Log Off" to log off the system.
  3. Log in as the "Administrator".
  4. Start the Autorun process to install the program.
