Technote (troubleshooting)

 

Problem(Abstract)

When attempting to license my SPSS product, I am getting the following error message.

Authorization in progress ... (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
Authorization failed.: The authorization code entered is not for this product/version. If you have multiple Authorization Codes, please check you have entered the correct one.
***End Of Transaction.***
One or more codes failed.

Click "Next" to license authorization via e-mail.**

 

**SIDE NOTE: When the customer clicks "Next" they are prompted to enter there email address and IBM will send them a new authorization code from the following email queue  IBMSPSS@flexnetoperations.com.

 

The cusotmer will get the following message in an email from IBMSPSS@flexnetoperations.com instantly (it seems to be an automated email queue)...

 

"In response to the request you submitted for a license code for your IBM SPSS software, here is your unique license code for the machine with lock code *-*****.

Auth Code: ********************
License Key: KXB355A9N5VOTOADLQM87HJIIY3CAU33ETCEOCFFO7ECTCCA3E6KT2RRZ5XTJKCOVDSMKWBZLSHNJKS25GWQDCKT6CEPIZC6LQJ# "1200" version "230", expires Midnight of Jul 31, 2016, exclusive

In order to install and license your software using the above license code, please follow the following steps:

  1. Launch the License Authorization Wizard via the Start>SPSS Inc>IBM SPSS Product>License Authorization Wizard.
  2. Proceed in the License Authorization Wizard to "License my product now." Click NEXT and enter the license code provided in this email.

For older versions of SPSS Products:

  1. Choose the option "I have contacted SPSS and have a license."
  2. Insert the above license code in the LICENSE CODE field.
  3. Click next and the licensing of the software is complete.

Resolving the problem

If you have more than one code, please check that your Authorization Code matches the version and software product you are trying to license.
